Now we are launching a new retro jersey at Brøndby Shoppen: a blue take on a yellow Brøndby classic with Faxe Kondi across the front, celebrating the late 1980s and early 1990s, a time that holds a very special place in many hearts.

For many, one glance at an old jersey design is all it takes for the memories to come back. Now we are giving them new life with a blue take on the original yellow hummel jersey.

After the tribute jersey to the first Danish championship in 1985, this is the next step in a series of reinterpretations, in which we will keep revisiting jerseys and stories from Brøndby IF’s history.

A jersey with greatness in it

The late ’80s and early ’90s were a time of championships, European adventures and big ambitions on Vestegnen. Years that gave us heroes and moments that are still talked about on the way to the stadium.

It was a time of big personalities and even bigger dreams. A time some remember from the stands, others from the TV - and that new generations have since come to know through old footage, faded team photos and stories from those who were there.

The new retro jersey is a tribute to exactly that period. To the players who gave us something to dream about, and to everyone who followed them.

A yellow classic, reimagined in blue

With its blue base and yellow details, the new jersey gives a fresh look to the familiar design of the yellow original.

The distinctive pattern in the fabric, the collar, the hummel chevrons along the sleeves and the Faxe Kondi logo across the front all draw on the jersey of the time and give the memories a new colour.

The Faxe name stirs memories all of its own in Brøndby. Of the community, the songs and the Sundays on the stand we know today as Sydsiden, but which for many years was called the Faxe Stand.
The jersey brings together two things that have followed generations of Brøndby fans: the heroes on the pitch and life in the stands. Maybe you remember the yellow original yourself? Maybe you inherited your love for it from someone who stood there back then.

With our series of reinterpretations, we want to bring selected chapters of the club’s history back and give more generations the chance to carry them on.

The 1985 jersey was the latest chapter. Now comes a return to the late 1980s and early 1990s, and more moments from our shared history will follow.
